Sparkle and Shine
Happy Saturday and I hope everyone is having a solid weekend—or at least trying to.
I get it… There are many factors that can make a day go sideways. Just remember, there is always something out there that can make you laugh or something you can do that will help you forget your troubles for a while. I'm not saying avoid them… I am just saying life is too short to sit around being sad.
Believe me… I could go into it, but I would rather not. This blog isn't meant to drudge up or harp on any more shit we are all forced to swallow.
With that said, let’s move on.
I've had the last week off and I pretty much did everything I wanted to do mainly though I relaxed and focused on my book series.
The week started with a meeting to expand my series to other avenues. It ended with me signing a contract to sell my book in the most darling bookstore I have ever had the pleasure of stepping foot in. Not bad for a week off.
I read, I exercised, and I cleaned my apartment. You might wonder why I am continuously cleaning said flat… Well, I am a relatively clean person but also, it’s an older spot and it will always have decades-old grime seeping through the surface. Literally, it was the first apartment dwelling built in my city. In 1806 if I am not mistaken. Yeah, it’s that old. I am pretty sure along with its antiquities, there are a few ghosts that have decided to linger as well. It certainly isn't my cat sitting on the bed sometimes.
I also started the week with a little ritual. A portal opener. I immediately got sick. As if what was no longer needed was purging itself out of my body. I felt fine a few hours later.
I did not practice my ukulele. Honestly, I am just trying to get my hands correct and comfortable with the four chords required for this one song. That’s it…. ONLY FOUR CHORDS.
I slept in most days. Given the 6AM wake-up call I usually have this was utterly delightful. What can I say, I am a Taurus and we love our sleep.
All in all, it was a great week. I didn't do much but I did enough and what I wanted to accomplish got done.
I go back to work on Monday and to be honest, I have missed my little boo-boo heads. Not the early rising time. Lol.
I'm looking forward to the upcoming weeks because a lot will be taking place: a live interview, a writer’s conference in Los Angeles, and tickets for concerts and trips being booked.
I'm excited and nothing is going to break this sparkle.
Shine on you shiny diamonds!
~x~
